drawings

i used this drawing in many of my designs back in september because it worked nicely with lots of different colour combinations and worked with other designs i had. i used water colours and fine liners to produce this design and i am glad i included it in a few of my designs.

this is the biggest drawing i produced. its an a3 pencil observational drawing of a rose plant that i had and even though i love the drawing and it took me a very long time to complete i didn't use it in any of my designs which i am sad about but i just couldn't imagine it working with anything.

this was a biro scribble drawing produced from inspiration from a surface pattern i found online, this was another design i used a lot. it worked very nicely with other drawings and lots of colours.

this is a multi layered drawing, a tracing of an original drawing based on tone and this came in handy when it came to screen printing.

i love this close up tonal drawing and i find it so beautiful on its own i didn't use it in any of my patterns but i really do like it.

these were a combination of blind and left hand drawings which i experimented quite a lot with during development. these were new techniques i hadn't used a lot before and they can really help you relax before starting a detailed observational drawing.
