Combination of screen printing techniques

I love the results of these screen prints!
I combined my striped technique and multi-layer together with one of my designs in a combination of colours. I love them; I feel they have a pop art vibe.

Multi-Layered screen prints

These designs are multi-layered as one design has been printed on top of the other.
I like multi-layered prints as different colours are able to be used and different designs can be combined together, I also feel they look very effective.

Striped screen prints

When experimenting with screen prints I tried printing with multiple colours at a time. To create this striped effect instead of placing a line of ink at the top of the printing screen, a line is formed with dots of different colours and is dragged down the screen.
I love this technique! and I hope to continue using it in my work.
I found that going over the design allows the colours to blend together and creates a rainbow effect.

Initial Screen Prints

When beginning to screen print I tried out the technique using one design at a time on different fabrics. I just wanted to see which coloured inks worked best on each fabric and how my designs looked when transformed onto the fabric.
So above you will see simple screen prints on small squares of fabric just to sample my designs.
I feel that the colours I have chosen work well together and overall I am happy with the results and look forward to carry on progressing with the technique.

Colour Scheme

When Creating a colour scheme I looked to inspiration sources such as the website: http://design-seeds.com/, I also searched for colour schemes I had in mind on Pinterest.
I used the website design-seeds to look through a collection of images, picking out the colours which I might like to use within my own work. From this I managed to find multiple images that were relevant to the colours I initially wanted to use. From there I looked into how these colour schemes may have already been used; looking for interior and fashion items that followed that of a similar palette to mine.
After looking through my colour inspiration I decided to use turquoises, pinks and greens as I love the way that they work together and the vibrancy of them.
